01 Why people call

The tool is rarely the problem. The process behind it is.

These are the four conversations I have most often. If more than one of them is true, the problem is structural and no amount of extra training will fix it.

ERR_01

The last rollout did not stick.

It was built, announced, and quietly abandoned. Usually because the structure did not match how anyone actually works.

ERR_02

Nobody trusts the numbers.

The dashboard says one thing, the spreadsheet says another, and everyone quietly keeps their own version.

ERR_03

It only works because someone remembers.

The process runs on one person knowing which board to check on a Thursday. That is not a system, it is a dependency.

ERR_04

Work is copied between tools by hand.

Someone re-types the same information into a second system every week. That is exactly what integration is for.

// I am the person you hire when the last rollout did not stick.

02 Two ways in

Learn it, or have it built.

Both start from the same place: understanding the process before touching the tool. Scope drives price, so every number is quoted after a short call rather than guessed at on a pricing page.

03 How I build

Five stages. Progress in every one.

The order matters. Most failed builds skipped stage one and went straight to building boards.

01

Discover

I watch how the work happens today, including the spreadsheet nobody mentions. Requirements from behaviour, not a wishlist.

02

Design

You see the board structure and the process on paper before anything is built, so disagreements happen when they are cheap.

03

Build

Built in stages with something to look at every week. No four week silence followed by a reveal.

04

Train

Your team learns it on the real thing, in their language, with a written playbook they keep.

05

Hand over

Documentation, admin access and the reasoning behind every decision. You are not tied to me afterwards.

04 How I work

Four things I will not compromise on.

i.

The process comes before the tool

Almost every failed implementation I have been called in to fix was a tooling answer to a process question.

ii.

Independent means I can say no

No reseller quota. If monday.com is the wrong fit, saying so costs me one project and saves you a year.

iii.

You should not need me afterwards

Every build is documented and handed over properly. If you never call me again, the system still works.

iv.

Shared knowledge is worth more

Everything I learn goes into the Playbook for free. It is how people find out whether they want to work with me.

05 The Playbook · free and open

Everything I learned from 90+ builds, given away.

06 Certified, not self-declared

monday.com vouches for me in writing.

Anyone can put “monday.com expert” in a LinkedIn headline. These seven are issued by monday.com itself, one for every corner of the platform I build in.

07 How I got here
“Somewhere around project 30 the pattern became impossible to ignore. The tool was almost never the problem.”
Ahmed Essam
Independent monday.com consultant & trainer · Cairo, working remotely
EnglishDeutschالعربية

I have delivered more than 90 monday.com implementations and over 250 hours of live training. CRM systems, project operations, reporting for management, and a fair number of rescues of builds that somebody else abandoned halfway.

The problem was that nobody had decided how the work should flow before configuring software to carry it. So I stopped starting with boards and started starting with questions.

The same 10 questions come up on every project, and answering them once in public is more useful than answering them 90 times in private. If reading the Playbook means you build it yourself and never hire me, that is a good outcome.

I work with small and mid-sized teams. Usually the person I work with is the one inside the company who owns monday.com and never asked to.

08 Common questions

Straight answers.

How long does a full build take?

Usually 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff. The variable is almost never the building, it is how quickly decisions get made on your side. I will tell you at the start which decisions are on the critical path.

How do you price?

Fixed scope and fixed price for defined projects, monthly for ongoing work. You get the number before we start, and it does not move unless the scope does.

Are we locked in to you afterwards?

No, and the handover is designed to prevent it. Documentation, admin access and the reasoning behind every choice.

Do you work with tools other than monday.com?

For the surrounding automation, yes: Make, n8n, and direct API work when it is warranted. If monday.com is the wrong tool, I will say that in the first call rather than the last.

Can you fix an existing account instead of starting over?

Often yes, and it is usually cheaper. The first step is an audit to establish whether the structure can be repaired or whether patching costs more than rebuilding.

Which language do you teach in?

English, German or Arabic. Pick whichever your team is most comfortable in.

09 No pitch

Want a second
opinion?

A short call. Tell me what is broken and I will tell you whether it needs a fix, a rebuild or nothing at all. Calls run in English, German or Arabic.
